International Jascha Heifetz Competition – a competition for violinists of all nationalities in Lithuania. First International Jascha Heifetz Competition for Violinists was held in 2001, commemorating 100th birth anniversary of the violinist. The competition was organised by Lithuanian Cultural Foundation together with Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. Currently the competition is organised by Public Institution Natų knygynas together with Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. Main supporters of the competition: Lithuanian Council for Culture and Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania. The competition takes place every four years. The next competition will be held on 13–19 February 2017 in Vilnius. The prize fund of the competition is – 20 000 €. The participants that pass the preliminary round are evaluated by the international jury. The chairman of the jury in 2017 is Gidon Kremer.
