Collected Studies on the Septuagint: From Language to Interpretation and Beyond

Jan Joosten (born 17 May 1959 in Ekeren, Belgium) is a Biblical scholar. Since 2014, he has been Regius Professor of Hebrew at the University of Oxford. He was previously Professor of the Old Testament at the University of Strasbourg. He is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature.

Joosten finished his studies in 1981 in Brussels. His areas of interest are the Septuagint, Syriac versions of the Bible, a biblical manuscript found at Qumran, and the Diatessaron.
