Jan Baptist Bosschaert

Jan-Baptist Bosschaert (December 17, 1667 – 1746), was a Flemish painter.

Bosschaert was born and died in Antwerp, and lived and worked there all his life. He specialized in still life paintings, particularly depictions of flowers. He became a free master of the Guild of Saint Luke in 1693. When the painter Ferdinand van Kessel needed to fulfill commissions from the King of Poland he periodically subcontracted other Antwerp painters, including Bosschaert for flower themed works.
