James Park (1857–1946) was a Scottish geologist, director of school of mines, university professor and writer, active in New Zealand. He was born in Kintore, Aberdeenshire, in 1857.

His son Air Commodore Sir Keith Park had a distinguished career in the Royal Air Force in two world wars.
