Jafari Tabar

Majid Ja'fari-tabar was born in learned and cultured family in 1961 in Qom, Iran.

He started to learn and acquire the preliminaries of knowledge, techniques of literature and calligraphy with his respected father late Ayatollah Hajj shaykh Mahmud Jafari-tabar(1918–1999) receiving his education until the highest degrees which continued to the last days of the life of the latter. Simultaneous with studying in governmental schools, he did his best to acquire religious knowledge and Islamic teachings.This familiarized with the Book of Allah and took so much pleasure that he memorized the Qur'an when he was an adolescent and profoundly researched and studied its relevant branches of knowledge. Having graduated from high school in mathematics he officially entered the realm of Islamic knowledge and expanded his docial-cultural activities by holding the various teaching session, meetings and expanded his social-cultural activities by holding the various teaching sessions, meetings and gatherings.

Due to his perseverance he managed to quickly take the steps forward in his seminary higher education so that he obtained the degree of ijtihad (independendent reasoning) in his youth. His remarkable interest in the Book of Allah paved the way for him to uniquely master different fields of Qur'anic knowledge and propose innovative ideas and open new chapters in each of them.

The result of years of his endeavors, teaching and giving lectures are numerous literatures, as well as audio and video files in different fields of Islamic and Qur'anic knowledge.

In addition, he has educated many students most whom are expert in various Islamic branches of knowledge, and has widely disseminated his valuable viewpoints.

Let us advisably ignore the details of his life and works and just speak of another aspect that is the heavenly art of recitation of Qur'an. As mentioned above, the attachment of Mr.Jafari-tabar to the Qur'an caused him to tirelessly attempt in finding and learning whatever is relevant to the Qur'an including its recitation to which he resorted.

Taking advantage of the limited audio sources available during his childhood, he began learning and practicing the recitation of the Qur'an in a self-teaching way.In the course of years and benefiting from artistic gift hidden in his nature Mr.Ja'fari-tabar studied and analyzed the recitation of the Qur'an reciters from various aspects of voice and cadence and began to complete and implement what he already had found, without benefiting from any teachers in this regard. he obtained a profound insight and deep knowledge in tajweed (science of reading the Qur'an with proper intonation and orthoepy), tafseer (the commentary of the Qur'an), and the Qur'anic and Arabic literature through deep research and remarkable deliberation. The result of these endeavors has been reflected in his recitation to make it special. The following is some of the characteristics of his recitations: -Infusing the meanings and commentaries of the verses during the recitation so that the listener obtains a much deeper understanding of the Qur'anic verses. -Benefiting from the four arts of recitation and Qur'anic knowledge to present the meanings and commentaries of the verses by relying upon other verses and the hadtihts narrated from the Infallible (the Prophet and his Household). -Memorizing the Holy Qur'an 20 narrations (14 well-known narrations and 6 less-known ones) and performing the seven narrations with different tajweed styles. -Presenting more than 5000 various recitations (varying between 4 minutes and 4 hours) and mostly long. -Establishing a special style based on the above-mentioned characteristics in the scene of the Qur'anic recitations.

Hassan Rohani, in 2013, on a visit to Qom campaign was met with Majid Jafari tabar.
