Jack David is an American anti-folk singer-songwriter from Chantilly, Virginia, United States. He is best known for his solo work and as the front man of the folk-punk band, Byrdman. Since 2014, he has released a several full-length albums and EPs under different names. His style draws influence from pop punk, emo, folk, and country music.
David began writing music in March 2014 under the moniker of Byrdman. He released his first EP on a split with Chicago-based folk-punk artist False Idols in September of the same year. Unsatisfied with the way the earliest songs came out, he invited his brother Nick David (drums) and friends Connor Cragg (bass) and Matthew Benson (trumpet) to join the band. Several months later, the band released their first full-length album, All My Friends Are Dead To Me, which enjoyed a generally good reception. Byrdman would release several more EPs and eventually a second full-length album, Escape Humanity!, which proved to be less popular than the first record.
In the summer of 2015, David announced he had signed to Purple Stereo Countdown records via Twitter and Reddit to drop his first solo record. The album was titled You, Me, and the Great Wall Between and was the most successful record David has released to date. The album was released on CD-R and distributed both by Purple Stereo Countdown Records and through David himself.
On May 2nd, 2016, David announced his sophomore full-length album, titled "Stay Inside, Don't Fall In Love". It will be released August of 2016 through Flowerpot Records.
