History

The village has been known since 1496. Probably some people lived here since times of Kievska Rus till 1946 when all the native inhabitants, Ukrainians (Rusins) were sent to USSR by Polish Communist Army.

The Church named Pokrovy Presviatoi Bogoroditsi of the village Jablonki was built in the first half of the 18th century. The first church book dated to 1786 had following family names - Ilkiw, Rabik, Petrik, Kawchak, Cigan, Golyk, Melnik, Musula, etc.

It was in Jabłonki that on March 28, 1947, Poland's General Karol Świerczewski was killed in an ambush organised by the Ukrainian Insurgent Army.
