J.H. Down (first name and dates of birth and death unknown) was an English cricketer. Down was a left-handed batsman who bowled slow left-arm orthodox.

Down made his first-class debut for Hampshire in the 1914 County Championship against Sussex, in which, batting at number eleven, he made his highest first-class score of 31*. Down played his final first-class match in the same season against Worcestershire, where he took his only first-class wicket.

With the onset of World War I first-class cricket was suspended until 1919, with Down not making any further first-class appearances after the war.
