Geography
Ivor is located at 36°54′24″N 76°53′52″W (36.906577, -76.897860).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.8 km²), all of it land.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there were 320 people, 135 households, and 100 families residing in the town. The population density was 293.6 people per square mile (113.4/km²). There were 152 housing units at an average density of 139.5 per square mile (53.8/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 76.25% White, 19.69% African American, 1.25% Native American, and 2.81% from two or more races.
There were 135 households out of which 25.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.2% were married couples living together, 10.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.9% were non-families. 24.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 17.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.37 and the average family size was 2.78.
In the town, the population was spread out with 20.0% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 24.4% from 25 to 44, 27.5% from 45 to 64, and 21.6% who were 65 years of age or older.
