Itijjuaq is, in the religion of the Inuit, a third gender being that was one of the world's first shamans. She discovered the world's first amulet, a sea urchin shell, which allowed her to cure the most deadly diseases by passing gas in the direction of the afflicted. The name "Itijjuaq" means "Big Anus".
