Istehaar is a popular term within India for posting advertisements in newspaper and online classifieds. It is derived from Urdu and Hindi wordings. It is block of section with newspapers such as Times of India, Hindustan Times and online versions such as adbharat.com, classifieds4all.in where people advertise for marriages, services, used items and jobs.
The usual newspaper has more than 100 istehaar every day.
The market for newspaper istehaar has declined because of the popularity of the Internet in India.
