Iqbal Ahmed Khan was a Karachi-based Pakistani Journalist. He was in charge of the movies section of the Pakistani daily Jang newspaper in the 1970s.

Personal life

He was married to Kishwar Iqbal Khan and had Rashid Iqbal Khan, Nadeem Iqbal Khan. His family used to live in Block-2, P.E.C.H.S., Karachi during the 1970s and 80s.

Career

He started his career by providing information about Radio Pakistan and Pakistani Movie Industry. He was very famous in Pakistani film Industry and Radio Pakistan. But in later years he was also active in political circle. During the late 1970s and early 1980s he remained the Editor in Chief of London-based Pakistani magazine known as Aaiena-e-Jahan. He frequently traveled to London, U.K. during his days as a journalist. He also participated in 1979-80's local Pakistani elections from Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan.

Death

Khan died of a heart attack during a press conference of former Pakistani president, military and political leader General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq. The next day, General Zia ul Haq extended his condolences to Iqbal Ahmad's family in Karachi.
