The Iowa–Nebraska football rivalry is an American college football rivalry between the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Since trophy series began in 2011, when Nebraska entered the big 10. The series is tied 3 to 3.

History

The two schools met often throughout the 1890s and the first half of the 20th century, but played only six times in the second half. Following Nebraska's move to the Big Ten Conference in 2011, the teams again meet annually. The Heroes Trophy has been awarded to the winner of the game since 2011. Nebraska leads the series 29–15–3.

The proximity of the two teams played an important role in the early days of the rivalry, with exclusive trains running between Iowa City and Lincoln to allow fans to travel.
