Iota2 Normae

Iota2 Normae (Iota2 Nor), is a star located in the constellation Norma. Iota2 Normae is also known as HR 5994, and HD 144480. The star is located at Right Ascension 16h 09m 18sec and Declination -57 deg 56 arcmin 04 arcsec. It is to the west of Rigel Kentaurus but can be difficult to see in the milky way.

Iota2 Normae is an B9.5V blue-white main sequence star with an effective temperature of 10593 Kelvin. It has an apparent visual magnitude of +5.57. Measuring its parallax reveals it is located 280 ± 10 light-years away from the sun, and has a mass 2.3 to 2.6 times that of the Sun. It shines with a luminosity approximately 40 times that of the Sun.
