The Investment Bank of Greece (Greek: Επενδυτική Τράπεζα Ελλάδος) is a Greek investment bank subsidiary of the Cyprus Popular Bank with headquarters in Athens. It has two branches in Greece and is a broker in the securities market and the derivatives market of the Athens Exchange. It also offers its clients trading in foreign shares and derivatives trading with contracts for difference on forty international stock exchange markets and also on commodities such as light crude oil, natural gas, gold, silver, copper, cotton etc.
It was involved in the failure of its parent the Marfin Popular Bank when it and its sister bank the Marfin-Egnatia made bad loans for capital raising in related companies in Greece. The parent bank was nationalised by the Cyprus government and renamed Cyprus Popular Bank. It is owned by the legacy entity of the parent and is a financial consultant for the wind down of its parent since April 2015.
