An interferon-stimulated gene (ISG) is a gene whose expression is stimulated by interferon. The protein products of these genes control pathogenic infections.

ISG have been subdivided into type I (stimulated by IFN alpha, beta), type II (IFN gamma) and type III (IFN lambda).
