Instituto de Ensino Teologico

Instituto de Ensino Teologico is the theological institute of Social da Bahia School, located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It was founded on April 25, 1981, by Sister Gervis Alves de Aguiar of the Congregation of the Daughters of the Heart of Mary. In 1987, Cardinal Lucas Moreira Neves issued a canonical decree recognizing it as the School of Faith and Catechesis equivalent to a major seminary. By 2006, this institute had been responsible for the training of more than 1,200 theologians.
