The Inspector Jamshed series was written by Pakistani author Ishtiaq Ahmad. It is a series of crime novels and features a detective, Inspector Jamshed, who solved crimes with the help of his three children, Mehmood, Farooq & Farzana. Mehmood is studying in high school and he is very clever where Farooq as compare to Mehmood is very talkative and climbing the trees is his hobby. Farzana is very clever and she tell them new ideas. With the help of their father they also solve crime cases. They go to school and are studying. Inspector Jamshed comes back from his office at 5 pm and then this family drinks tea. Farzana always help her mother in kitchen. In Inspector's office his assistant Inspector Ikram helps him. Some officers are there in his office who feel jealous about Inspector Jamshed and these officers also include Inspector Fazil. The boss of Inspector Jamshed is Officer Nisar Ahmed. His friends Khan Rehman- a retired army officer & a scientist, Professor Dawood also helps him in solving the crime cases. Khan Rehman's children two sons Hamid and Sarwar and one daughter Naz also help them in some novels. And his Khan's servant name is Zahoor. He and his wife is working in Khan's home from a long time. Professor Dawood has only one daughter Shaista and she is a very good friend of Mehmmod,Farooq and Farzana. Later new series " Inspector Kamran " series and " Shoki Brother " series was written by Ishtiaq Ahmed.
In Inspector Kamran series he is with three kids, one his son named Aftaab other his best friend named Munawar Ali Khan's daughter named Farhat and his other friend named Mehmood's son named Asif. Asif's father Mehmood lives out of country due to his job and he lives in country because of his studies and Aftaab Asif and Farhat lives like siblings.
In Shoki Brother series they are 4 brothers and one sister ( who comes sometime ) and they work privately. The biggest one is Shoki in the second number there is Ashfaq the third one is Akhlaq and the smallest brother is Aaftab and his nickname is Makhan. Their sister's name is Riffat and she comes sometimes in novel.
The series was started in late 70s and went on for three decades in which Ishtiaq Ahmad wrote about 400 novels featuring these characters.
