Indian Creek Wilderness Study Area is a wilderness study area managed by the United States Bureau of Land Management in southern Utah. It encompasses 6970 acres of land immediately north of Canyonlands National Park in the rugged lower stretches of Indian Creek near where it flows into the Colorado River.

Hiking RoutesEdit

From where the Lockhart Basin Road crosses Indian Creek, it is possible to hike all the way down to the Colorado River by following the wash, although there is a tricky maneuver following a cutoff oxbow just below the lower pouroff. Stay on the southern bank and follow a circuitous route until a short, mildly exposed route drops to the river layer. From the pour off one mile up from the river, there are hiking routes south, up, and eventually to Canyonlands National Park, as well as north, up and eventually to Horsethief Canyon. This is considered part of the Hayduke Trail.
