History

Indegene was founded in 1998 by Dr. Rajesh Nair and four of his associates. Indegene's first acquisition was Medsn, a company that provided medical education. Medsn continued to operate under that name in the United States. In 2008, Medsn officially became known as Indegene Pharmaceutical Solutions in the United States. In 2006, Indegene acquired MedCases, a continuing medical education company based in the United States.

In 2009, Indegene signed a master service agreement with 6 of the top 10 pharmaceutical companies in the world. The following year, Indegene acquired Canada-based Aptilon, a multichannel marketing firm, for $4 million. The company expanded its reach further into North America by acquiring Atlanta-based Total Therapeutic Management in 2014.

In 2011 and 2012, The Economic Times named Indegene one of the best companies to work for in the Professional Services industry. In 2012, Indegene had 900 employees in offices in India, the United States, the European Union, and China. By 2015, the number of employees at Indegene increased to 1,600.

Indegene offers medical, marketing, risk, healthcare quality, clinical effectiveness, and care management solutions to global healthcare organizations. Pharmaceutical and medical specialists, computer programmers, businesspeople, and designers all collaborate to identify and foment these solutions. Indegene enterprise technology includes proprietary platforms that help address HCP engagement, salesforce effectiveness, customer and patient engagement, health quality improvement (Star Rating, HEDIS, QRS), and risk adjustment.
