In the Library with the Lead Pipe is a peer-reviewed academic journal that focuses on topics about libraries. The journal is abstracted and indexed in EBSCO databases.
A survey of 67 university librarians and archivists showed that 5% were regular readers of In the Library with the Lead Pipe. The Library and Information Technology Association incorporated involvement with In the Library with the Lead Pipe into its 2010 strategic plan.
The journal is published under a Creative Commons Attribution International 4.0 license.
