On debut, Ilyas opened the batting in both innings, partnering with Mohammad Farooq in the first innings and Razaullah Khan in the second. He top-scored with 19 runs in Sind's first innings of 54 runs, and added 12 runs in the team's second innings of 73 runs, with Karachi A winning by an innings and 276 runs.
