Ice hockey at the 2013 Winter Universiade was held at the Stadio del Ghiaccio di Cavalese in Cavalese and Stadio del Ghiaccio "Gianmario Scola" in Val di Fassa and Pergine Valsugana Ghiaccio Hall in Pergine Valsugana.
Preliminary round
Twelve participating teams were placed in the following three groups. After playing a round-robin, the top two teams in each group plus the top two third placed teams advanced to the Quarterfinals. The last team in each group competes in the Placing Round.
A team receives 3 points for a win, 2 points for an overtime/shootout win and 1 point for a shootout loss.
