Ian Vaughan is an English former professional football defender. He played in the Football League for Rotherham United and Stockport County.

Vaughan was an apprentice with Rotherham United, later turning professional with Rotherham and making his league debut in the 1979-80 season. He played just four times for Rotherham, but also played twice while on loan to Stockport County, before leaving to join then non-league Burton Albion. He subsequently joined Mossley, playing 11 times in the 1986-87 season before leaving to join Matlock Town.

David Vaughan

His brother David was also a football defender and later a manager. He joined Mossley in 1977 from Boston. and was their player of the year for the 1980-81 season. He left to join Burton Albion, later becoming their manager. He later managed Matlock Town until being sacked late in 1995 and replaced by Imre Varadi.
