Ian Cameron is a fiddle player and classically trained violinist based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Grammy-nominated work
Cameron co-wrote and performs on the title track of Arun Shenoy's "Rumbadoodle" Album, nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Pop Instrumental Album for the 55th Grammy Awards in 2013. He also co-wrote and performs "The Violin Song" on the same album.
Current projects
Cameron plays fiddle, five-string electric violin, mandolin, electric guitar, and banjitar and contributes vocals with Chad Oliver as part of the duo called Ruckus Deluxe, based at the Whistler Blackcomb Resort Area in British Columbia. The duo has a current EP, Ruckus Deluxe, Creating a Disturbance in Whistler. The first track on that EP, "Top of the World," won the 2011 Contest for the Official Anthem for Whistler.
Internet Collaborations
Cameron's music career has involved numerous collaborations with musicians across all genres and styles of music. In 2000, he started efiddler.com, a web-based resource offering royalty-free violin and fiddle loops and samples. Composers who require fiddle tracks can select from samples in 27 different keys, eight different genres—including alternative, blues, cajun, celtic, country, electric, gypsy, and strings—at 39 different tempos. This enterprise mirrored the increasing decentralization of music production and allowed him to forge connections with other musicians around the world. The efiddler project led to Cameron's collaboration with Arun Shenoy, based in Singapore. The two had never met in person before the 55th Grammy Awards ceremony.
Earlier career
Cameron began playing violin at age five, using the Suzuki method. Music has been his only career. He played electric guitar and fiddle/violin with a variety of bands, including a stint with the Canadian New Wave band Strange Advance. His violin work was featured in the video for the Strange Advance single "We Run" (1985) which charted for Canadian Pop.
During 1988-2008, Cameron was part of the Canadian progressive rock band Faith and Desire. This band released two albums between 1993 and 1995. Cameron's "electric violin" is listed as a notable instrument for that band.
Cameron has also recorded and performed with Brent Howard and Southern Cherry. In addition to his fiddle work featured on the CDs entitled "Brent Howard" and "Now Where Was I...?", Cameron was cast as the male lead in the story video that accompanied "Always Leaving Something Behind."
Folk and celtic music is also part of Cameron's repertoire. He toured, at one time, with the Canadian Americana/Folk/Celtic group Tiller's Folly.
Leading up to the 2013 Grammy awards, Cameron was interviewed on for a GlobalBC television newscast and for a newspaper article in the Vancouver Sun.
