Iain Morrison is a musician, singer & songwriter from the Isle of Lewis.

He was a member of the Glasgow-based band Crash My Model Car. They were signed to V2 Records in 2005 and released an album Ghosts & Heights.

Due to his early background in the classical music of the highland pipes (piobaireachd) he was commissioned in 2010 by the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow to write songs to form a show based on such melodies. The show, titled 'Ceol Mor/Little Music', received a 5 Star review from The Scotsman newspaper. Songs from Ceol Mor/Little Music were recorded for a feature on a radio session broadcast on the Mary Ann Kennedy show for the BBC World on 3 radio programme.

He won Composer of the Year at The Scots Trad Music Awards in 2010. He appeared on 3 programmes of the BBC’s TV series Transatlantic Sessions in 2011, singing 3 of his own songs alongside Bela Fleck, Danny Thompson and Jerry Douglas. He sang the part of Orpheus for Anais Mitchell’s Hadestown show in Glasgow in 2011.

To record his album To the Horizon, Sir, Morrison traveled to Vermont and the home studio of producer & friend Michael Chorney (Hadestown Orchestra, Anais Mitchell, Dollar General, Justin Vernon, Ani Difranco). He returned to Scotland and completed the album with musician friends. Songs from To the Horizon, Sir were featured in a live broadcast on the Tom Morton show for BBC Radio Scotland.

His 2015 release "Eas" is an album of songs inspired by the melodies of ancient traditional piping tunes (Piobaireachd). "Eas" was chosen as 'Album of the Year 2015' on BBC Radio Scotland's The Roddy Hart Show.
