Initiative Development Ghana (or ID Ghana) is a Ghanaian MicroFinance Institution (MFI) based in the Dansoman neighborhood of Accra, Ghana. Founded in 1998, ID Ghana offers loans, voluntary savings, and a host of business support services and financial literacy training to people living in the Greater Accra region. ID Ghana is registered as a Financial NGO (FNGO) in Ghana.

ID Ghana's mission statement is: "To live in a world where the Poor are able to develop their own in-come-generating activity in order to reach better nutrition, health and educational standards."

As of 2014, ID Ghana had 800K USD on deposit, and a gross loan portfolio of 1.3M USD. ID Ghana made 11,925 microloans in 2014, 96% of which were to women entrepreneurs.

ID Ghana has three principal loan products:

  1. Front Desk loans. These are individual loans ranging from GHS 100 to GHS 5,000 in size, with a term of between 3 and 9 months.
  2. Onipa Nua loans. These are similar in size and term to the Front Desk loans, but based on a group support structure.
  3. Kick Start loans. These loans are dedicated to startup businesses, and are much smaller in size, ranging from GHS 20 to GHS 200, with a 6-month loan term.

In 2007, ID Ghana developed a strategic partnership with Entrepreneurs du Monde, a French NGO that supports the development of the microfinance sector throughout the world. The Entrepreneurs du Monde website discusses the partnership as follows: "Since 2007, Entrepreneurs du Monde has been supporting ID Ghana, a unique MFI in Ghana and a reference in the field of social microfinance for the poorest members of the population. ID Ghana has helped thousands of families to escape from poverty for good thanks to its microloan, savings and training services and its highly innovative social vision."

In 2012, ID Ghana became a Field Partner of the crowdfunding non-profit Kiva.org. As of March 31, 2016, ID Ghana had posted 2,033 loans to Kiva.org (for a value of 2,431K USD), of which 1,972 (2,310K USD) had been fully funded by Kiva's lenders. In 2015, ID Ghana represented 47% of Kiva's loan portfolio in Ghana, followed by Grameen Ghana (20%) and ASA Initiative (18%).
