The I.I. Schmalhausen Institute of Zoology of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Ukrainian: Інститут зоології ім. І. І. Шмальгаузена Національної академії наук України) is leading institution in Ukraine specialized in general zoology. It was officially founded on August 1, 1930. Zoologist Ivan Schmalhausen was the first director of the Institute. It consists of 14 scientific departaments and laboratories, more than 100 researchers with academic degree works here.
