Competitions Rules

The competition rules of season 4 excpet episode 1 8 into 7 scramble tournament (1st qualifying round), approximately follow the rules of season 3. In the first 3 season first time show, has 7 singers to perform, but in this season first time show has 8 singers to perform (Fixed rules 7 singers + 1 new rules singer), to get the entry qualification of next episode (1st knockout round), after 8 singers performances, audiences are going to vote, the last of this episode will directly eliminated, remain 7 singers enter to next episode, the lowest percentage of votes after adding up 2 episodes will be eliminated out of 7 line-up. The competition rules of season 4 still is "2+1" mode. "2" represent season 1 and 2's qualifying and knockout round, has 7 singers to perform, each episode has 500 audiences to vote. Qualifying round will not eliminate singer, knockout round will eliminate 1 singer. Each audience need to choose 3 performances that he likes in this episode, the lowest percentage of votes after adding up 2 episodes will be eliminated out of 7 line-up. Simultaneously, each singer has 1 comedian manager, comedian manager is from TV host. When singer is eliminated, relevant comedian manager also will eliminated. Another special feature is this programme doesn't have fixed host, the host is from 1 of all the contestants. "1" represent the new round, challenge round, that is after knockout round, 1 excellent new generation singer (Debut less than 10 years) is going to challenge 6 singers who haven't eliminated. As a challenge singer want to breakthrough situation, they need to face a more difficult challenge——If a challenge singer in the competition win half of the singers, ranking in 4 or above, then challenge success, join the line-up of the online singers, it also eliminate the last of the competition; Otherwise, challenge failure, they will miss the following perform (except return performance and breakout). The percentage votes of challenge round will not count in qualifying and knockout round, also will not affect the singer that is going to fill the seat. Challenge singers also have the qualifications to join the breakout.

That mean episode 1 and 2, are 7 singers to have the competition, the lowest percentage of votes after adding up 2 episodes will be eliminated out of 7 line-up. Episode 3 is 1st challenge round, the first challenge singer is going to perform with the 6 singers of 1st round competitors, if he challenge success, he can still to perform, the last of the competition will be eliminated, at this time the line-up of singers of fourth episode are the 5 singer of 1st round competitors, the first challenge success singer and the first singer who is going to fill the seat, if challenge failure, challenge singer will be eliminated, the line-up of 6 online singers will not change until the fourth episode with the first singer who fill the seat to compete. In episode 5, the line-up of 7 singers no matter are the first singer who fill the seat, the 6 singers of 1st round competitors or the first singer who fill the seat, the first challenge success singer and the 5 singers of 1st round competitors, each singer has the fourth and fifth episode's (2nd qualifying round and 2nd knockout round) results, the lowest percentage of votes after adding up 2 episodes will be eliminated out of 7 line-up. In episode 5, the eliminate singer might are one of the 1st round competitors or the first challenge success singer or the first singer who fill the seat. At this time the pass of the 6 singers have more possibility. The following rules of the competitions base on episode 3, 4 and 5 cycle (Episode 6 is 2nd challenge round, the second challenge singer will compete with the 6 online singers).

In breakout, is to invite the singer who is eliminated, who haven't eliminated but not 1st round competitors and challenge failure to scramble the qualifications to join the 1st final round, the quota is depending on how many 1st round competitors enter 1st final round.

In addition, season 4 follow the adding of singer voting in season 3, let the singers to vote the best 3 that they think, this ranking will not count in the results, the 1st can choose his order of performance. In choosing of song, it is different from season 1, 2, 3, except episode 1 and final round singer can sing their own song in previous, now change to only have 1 time to sing their own masterpieces, the following performances need to sing other's works. If they have sang their own masterpieces, the following performances want to sing their own masterpieces again, then in that episode at least has 1 other's work to sing.

I Am a Singer Season 4 has 8 singers of 1st round competitors, 3 challenge singers and 3 singers to fill the seat.

Qualifying (Scramble Tournament)

This episode is I Am a Singer Season 4 first time shows, is 1st qualifying round (scramble tournament). Episode 1, in Beijing time January 7, 2016 recording, January 15, 2016 at 10:00 p.m. in Hunan Television premiere. This season first time shows has 8 singers, 8 singers will get on the new competition rules, 8 into 7 scramble tournament, the last of this episode will directly eliminated, regard scramble fail. This episode, Guan Zhe and HAYA Band tie on No.7, no one is eliminated. Next episode, HAYA Band and Guan Zhe who ranking is lower than first eliminated.

Knockout

This episode is I Am a Singer Season 4 second time shows, is 1st knockout round. Episode 2, in Beijing time January 14, 2013 recording, January 22, 2013 at 10:00 p.m. in Hunan Television broadcast. This episode will eliminated 2 singers, because last episode, Guan Zhe and HAYA Band tie No.7, no one is eliminated. Thus, this episode HAYA Band and Guan Zhe who ranking is lower than first eliminated, regard scramble fail. Then according to 1st round total percentages of votes eliminate the lowest. Guan Zhe due to the ranking is lower than HAYA Band in this episode, so first eliminated, regard scramble fail.

Overall Ranking

1st round, HAYA Band is eliminated, in 1st round total percentages is the lowest.

Challenge

This episode is I Am a Singer Season 4 third time shows, is 1st challenge round. Episode 3, in Beijing time January 21, 2016 recording, January 29, 2016 at 10:00 p.m. in Hunan Television broadcast. 1st round, Su Yunying is going to participate challenge round, as the first singer go to challenge, at last she gets No.5 challenge failure.

Qualifying

This episode is I Am a Singer Season 4 fourth time shows, is 2nd qualifying round. Episode 4, in Beijing time January 27, 2016 recording, February 5, 2016 at 10:00 p.m. in Hunan Television broadcast. 2nd round, Jeff Chang join the competitions, as the first singer to fill the seat, substitute HAYA Band in 1st round is eliminated.

Knockout

This episode is I Am a Singer Season 4 fifth time shows, is 2nd knockout round. Episode 5, in Beijing time February 3, 2016 recording, February 12, 2016 at 10:00 p.m. in Hunan Television broadcast.

Overall Ranking

2nd round, Chao Chuan is eliminated, in 2nd round total percentages is the lowest.

Challenge

This episode is I Am a Singer Season 4 sixth time shows, is 2nd challenge round. Episode 6, in Beijing time February 4, 2016 recording, February 19, 2016 at 10:00 p.m. in Hunan Television broadcast. 2nd round, Elvis Wang is going to participate challenge round, as the second singer go to challenge, at last he gets No.1 challenge success, Shin is the last of this episode thus eliminated.

Qualifying

This episode is I Am a Singer Season 4 seventh time shows, is 3rd qualifying round. Episode 7, in Beijing time February 17, 2016 recording, February 26, 2016 at 10:00 p.m. in Hunan Television broadcast. 3rd round, Joey Yung join the competitions, as the second singer to fill the seat, substitute Chao Chuan in 2nd round is eliminated. This episode, Joey Yung due to the radio equipment failure so she sing again.

Knockout

This episode is I Am a Singer Season 4 eighth time shows, is 3rd knockout round. Episode 8, in Beijing time February 25, 2016 recording, March 4, 2016 at 10:00 p.m. in Hunan Television broadcast. This episode, Coco Lee original order of performance is No.6, Jeff Chang original order of performances is No.2, then Coco Lee change the order with Chang Shin Che.
