The Details of Competitions Rules

The competition rules of season 3 upgrade to "2+1" new mode. "2" represent season 1 and 2's qualifying and knockout round, has 7 singers to perform, each episode has 500 audiences to vote. Qualifying round will not eliminate singer, knockout round will eliminate 1 singer. Each audience need to choose 3 performances that he likes in this episode, the lowest percentage of votes after adding up 2 episodes will be eliminated out of 7 line-up. Simultaneously, each singer has 1 comedian manager, comedian manager is from TV host. When singer is eliminated, relevant comedian manager also will eliminated. Another special feature is this programme doesn't have fixed host, the host is from 1 of all the contestants. "1" represent the new round, challenge round, that is after knockout round, 1 excellent new generation singer (Debut less than 10 years) is going to challenge 6 singers who haven't eliminated. As a challenge singer want to breakthrough situation, they need to face a more difficult challenge——If a challenge singer in the competition win half of the singers, ranking in 4 or above, then challenge success, join the line-up of the online singers, it also eliminate the last of the competition; Otherwise, challenge failure, they will miss the following perform (except return performance and breakout). The percentage votes of challenge round will not count in qualifying and knockout round, also will not affect the singer that is going to fill the seat. Challenge singers also have the qualifications to join the breakout.

That mean episode 1 and 2, are 7 singers to have the competition, the lowest percentage of votes after adding up 2 episodes will be eliminated out of 7 line-up. Episode 3 is 1st challenge round, the first challenge singer is going to perform with the 6 singers of 1st round competitors, if he challenge success, he can still to perform, the last of the competition will be eliminated, at this time the line-up of singers of fourth episode are the 5 singer of 1st round competitors, the first challenge success singer and the first singer who is going to fill the seat, if challenge failure, challenge singer will be eliminated, the line-up of 6 online singers will not change until the fourth episode with the first singer who fill the seat to compete. In episode 5, the line-up of 7 singers no matter are the first singer who fill the seat, the 6 singers of 1st round competitors or the first singer who fill the seat, the first challenge success singer and the 5 singers of 1st round competitors, each singer has the fourth and fifth episode's (2nd qualifying round and 2nd knockout round) results, the lowest percentage of votes after adding up 2 episodes will be eliminated out of 7 line-up. In episode 5, the eliminate singer might are one of the 1st round competitors or the first challenge success singer or the first singer who fill the seat. At this time the pass of the 6 singers have more possibility. The following rules of the competitions base on episode 3, 4 and 5 cycle (Episode 6 is 2nd challenge round, the second challenge singer will compete with the 6 online singers).

In breakout, is to invite the singer who is eliminated, who haven't eliminated but not 1st round competitors and challenge failure to scramble the qualifications to join the 1st final round, the quota is depending on how many 1st round competitors enter 1st final round. Due to the adding of challenge round let the schedule have limited, in season 3 competitions cut to 4 rounds from 5 rounds, cancel the competition of semifinal, the rules of final round have relevant changes, the final round still divide into 2 rounds. 1st round is duet with guest singers, singer can invite guest singers help you to perform, the last of this round will be eliminated; 2nd round, is solo, and change to 4 rounds to vote the winner. In addition, also adding singer voting, let the singers to vote the best 3 that they think, this ranking will not count in the results, the 1st will get the prize. In choosing of song, base on the rules that change in season 2, except episode 1 and final round singer can sing their own masterpieces, the following performances need to sing other's works. If they have sang their own masterpieces, the following performances want to sing their own masterpieces again, then in that episode at least has 1 other's work to sing.

Challenge Round

In reserve every 2 episodes eliminate 1 singer, the new singers are added to the competitions base on the rules, the new rules is for excellent new generation singer to challenge (Debut less than 10 years), give them a chance to show their skills. As a challenge singer want to breakthrough situation, they need to face a more difficult challenge——If a challenge singer in the competition win half of the singers, ranking in 4 or above, then challenge success, join the line-up of the online singers, it also eliminate the last of the competition; otherwise, challenge failure, they will miss the following perform (except return performance and breakout). In episode 3, the first challenge singer Li Ronghao gets No.6 challenge failure, he has not win half of the singers, ranking in 4 or above, so Jane Zhang is the last of that episode can escape out of the fate of eliminated;But the second challenge singer Sitar Tan gets No.1 challenge success, she has win half of the singers, ranking in 4 or above, so Leo Ku is the last of that episode is eliminated. In episode 9, Hong Tao said that after discussed with the expert advisory group in the programme, challenge singers also have the qualifications to join the breakout.

Challenge singers also can register on social networking site, this is the method which the programme provide. Golden Melody Award Newcomer Award Li Rong Hao is the 1st singer who is open to register. This action of Li Ronghao trigger many new generation singer to register, among them, Hunan Television's Super Girl, Happy Boy, Happy Girl...many Super-Fast series electoral show's singers register to join this programme; Many contestant debut from The Voice of China are going to register, they have express the idea to participate in the programme. Then the Weibo of I Am a Singer confirm there are more than 60 singers are registered, but they will only pick one to participate this programme.

Singer voting

Start from this season, besides the vote of audience, it also adds singer voting, let the singers to vote the best 3 that they think, this ranking will not counting in the results, the 1st will get the prize, such as certificate, flowers, banners, medal etc.

Qualifying

This episode is I Am a Singer Season 3 first time shows, is 1st qualifying round. Episode 1, in Beijing time December 20, 2014 recording, January 2, 2015 at 10:00 p.m. in Hunan Television premiere. Each singer can sing their own masterpiece, then they need to sing other people's songs. The order of performance of this episode is decided according to audiences' votes, the song that audience expected is higher, the singers can rearward to perform.

Knockout

This episode is I Am a Singer Season 3 second time shows, is 1st knockout round. Episode 2, in Beijing time December 28, 2014 recording, January 9, 2015 at 10:00 p.m. in Hunan Television broadcast.
