Hypatima melanocharis is a moth in the Gelechiidae family. It was described by Meyrick in 1934. It is found in Indonesia (Java).

The wingspan is about 12 mm. The forewings are rather dark grey irrorated white, with scattered black dots and short fine irregular dashes, a longer dash beneath the costa at one-third, and three short marks in a rather oblique series in the disc beneath the posterior end of this, some brown suffusion above them, a cloudy blotch of whitish irroration towards the costa beyond this, and four small dark brown spots on the costa from this to two-thirds. The hindwings are light grey, darker posteriorly.
