The Hyatt Terraces Hotel was a 12-storey hotel in Baguio, Philippines. It sustained the most serious damage among other building in Baguio following the 1990 Luzon earthquake when the hotel's terrace front collapse and fell into the lobby area killing at least 50 people.
History
General Manager Heinrich Maulbecker of Hyatt Bangkok was tasked in 1978 to check on a property in Baguio called Baguio Terraces to study the viability of converting the hotel property into a Hyatt brand. Baguio Terraces was later rebranded as Hyatt Terraces Hotel and Maulbecker became the general manager of the Baguio hotel until the destruction of the hotel in 1990.
