  • 1981's Hurricane Gert - caused heavy rainfall to several Caribbean islands but no significant damage.
  • 1993's Hurricane Gert - struck Central America and the Yucatán Peninsula, then made a final landfall in Mexico, causing 116 deaths in the region and over $170 million in damage.
  • 1999's Hurricane Gert - reached Category 4 strength, threatened Bermuda but turned away before striking.
  • 2005's Tropical Storm Gert - earliest seventh-storm formation in the Atlantic Ocean since record-keeping began, breaking the old record set in 1936 by 14 days. Made landfall near Tampico, Mexico.
