Hunter 356

The Hunter 356 is an American sailboat, that was designed by Glenn Henderson. Hunter Marine built 500 examples of the design in the United States starting in 2000. The boat is now out of production.

Design

The Hunter 356 is a small recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass. It has a fractional sloop B&R rig, an internally-mounted spade-type rudder and a fixed fin keel. It displaces 13,900 lb (6,305 kg) and carries 4,000 lb (1,814 kg) of ballast.

The boat has a draft of 6.42 ft (1.96 m) with the standard fin keel. The optional shoal draft keel model has a draft of 5.00 ft (1.52 m)

The boat is fitted with a Japanese Yanmar diesel engine of 27 hp (20 kW). The fuel tank holds 38 U.S. gallons (140 L; 32 imp gal) and the fresh water tank has a capacity of 75 U.S. gallons (280 L; 62 imp gal).

The boat has a PHRF racing average handicap of 141 with a high of 150 and low of 135. It has a hull speed of 7.41 kn (13.72 km/h).
