Hookflash is a Canadian company. Hookflash is also the name of their product family for realtime communication for people who work together. The founders are Trent Johnsen and Erik Lagerway.
Hookflash for iPad is the first product, an iOS app announced at the DEMO Fall 2011 conference. It is being tested in private release. It offers users Hookflash-to-Hookflash instant messaging, voice calling and conferencing, video calling and conferencing over Hookflash's OpenPeer peer-to-peer network. The app also has business telephony features like call transfer and line hunting and social network features like profiles with activity data from sources like LinkedIn and sharing of recorded conversations. The company announced the iPad app will be free and the company will operate on a freemium business model.
