The Historical table of the Copa Libertadores is a cumulative record of all match results, points and goals of every team that has ever played in the Copa Libertadores since its inception in 1960, including qualifying stages. The table that follows is accurate as of the end of the 2016 season. A 3-point value per match won was determined to draw this table.

Nacional leads the table with 554 points, and has played a record 359 matches, while Peñarol and Nacional have the most appearances, with 43. Independiente is the most successful club of the tournament, with 7 titles. Qualified teams to the 2017 Copa Bridgestone Libertadores had their participations already aggregated. As the teams are eliminated from the competition their statistics are updated. Thus, teams assigned as "TBU" are still on dispute.

Peñarol also claims the record with the most wins (154), Nacional with the most draws (98) and Peñarol with the most losses (114). The manyas also possesses the record for most goals scored on the competition, with 520 goals, while claiming the dubious record of most goals conceded with 416. River Plate has the best goal difference in the history of the competition with a mark of 179.
