Hing is an English surname, recorded in London from the 17th century.
It is probably from the name of a 'lost' settlement in England, although it has been suggested that it means hingemaker. This is unlikely, as hinges were usually made by blacksmiths.
It is also an ancient Chinese surname, known in Chinese character 卿, with the people carrying this surname distributing mostly in Southern China. The spelling is for Cantonese; as for Mandarin it is Qing.
