Highline College Library is located on the Highline College campus in Des Moines, Washington, south of Seattle, Washington. The library offers services tailored to the needs of the students, faculty & staff of Highline College. Members of the community at large may also use the library and can borrow materials, provided they have applied for a public borrower's card.

Library collection

Highline Library has a collection of over 145,000 print, media, and electronic resources. Along with the main collection, the library has several special collections.

  • The New Readers Collection offers books, cassettes, and CDs for people learning to read, write, or speak the English language.
  • The Legal Collection consists of both primary and secondary legal materials that can only be used in the library.
  • Periodical and Scholarly Journal/Magazine Collection
  • Career Collection
  • As a part of the Federal Depository Library Program, the library receives publications from agencies within the United States Federal Government. These publications contain information on careers, business opportunities, health, research, and many other subjects.
  • Drama, Map and Pamphlet Collections
  • The Stanley P. Owens Native American Collection includes books, music, games, videos, puzzles, calendars, and prints. Topics covered in the collection include archeology, anthropology, history, botany, linguistics, biography, poetry, arts and crafts, photography, religion, legends and more.
  • The Thunderword, Highline's award-winning student newspaper. The library's electronic collection of the Thunderword begins in 1962.
