Hercules (1822)

Hercules was a 483-ton sailing ship built in 1822 at Whitby, England.

Under the command of Peter Reeves, she departed Cork, Ireland on the 5 January 1825, carrying 134 male convicts. She arrived in Sydney on 22 April 1825 and had one death en route. On her second convict voyage, she left Dublin on 3 July 1830 under the command of William Vaughan, carrying 200 male convicts. She arrived in Sydney on 1 November 1830 and had one death en route. Hercules again under the command of William Vaughan, departed the Downs on the 19 June 1832, carrying 200 male convicts. She arrived in Sydney on the 16 October 1832 and had two deaths en route.

She appears to have been chartered by the East India Company between 1828 and 1829.
