Herbie Helbig is a Canadian pianist, harpsichordist, and composer of German birth. He studied music composition and piano at The Royal Conservatory of Music with Samuel Dolin and privately in Toronto with Gordon Delamont. He is best known for his work as a concert pianist and film and television score composer in Canada. He is also a writer of jingles for Canadian television and radio. Appearing on the piano, Helbig made a LP recording in 1969 titled A Classical gas. From 1971-1984 he was the pianist for the children's television show Polka Dot Door.
