Herbert P. Gleason, Esq. practiced law in Boston since 1958, mostly in the fields of municipal law, real estate development and health care.

Biography

He was Chairman of the Board of Health and Hospitals of the City of Boston and was a founder and director of the Neighborhood Health Plan. He also served on the Massachusetts State Ethics Commission and the Boston Parks and Recreation Commission. He was educated at Harvard College and Harvard Law School.

Since 1949, Mr. Gleason was involved with the Salzburg Global Seminar, a non-profit organization based in Salzburg, Austria whose mission is to challenge current and future leaders to develop creative ideas for solving global problems. He was the Clerk of the Seminar when it was incorporated in 1950, Acting President in 1986, and was Secretary of the Board of Directors.

Mr. Gleason died of complications of melanoma Dec. 9, 2013 in Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center at the age of 85
