Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

Helmut Emil Friedrich Hans Klassmann (15 Maz 1914 – 25 January 1984) was a Kapitanleutnant with the Kriegsmarine during World War II, commander of the 3rd Raumbootflottille and recipient of the coveted Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross (German: Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes). The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership.
