Heidi Behrens-Benedict

Heidi Behrens-Benedict, an American political candidate. She has been a four-time candidate (1998, 2000, 2002 & 2004 Democratic nominee) for the United States House of Representatives, running as a Democrat in the Eighth Congressional District of Washington. The seat is currently held by Republican Dave Reichert.

In the 2004 primary election, Behrens-Benedict was one of three Democrats vying for the party's nomination (the other two being former RealNetworks attorney Alex Alben and radio personality Dave Ross). Ross won the primary election held 14 September 2004, but lost to the Republican nominee in the general election on 2 November 2004.

Heidi Behrens-Benedict was appointed in March 2010 as the executive director of The Great Wild Salmon Run, a nonprofit organization raising money to benefit local and national groups that are working to save wild salmon.
