Hatch (formerly Makeably) is a New York City-based custom goods e-commerce website.

Overview

The website was founded by ex-Google employees Anastasia Leng and Ryan Hayward in November 2012 originally as "Makeably". The website was originally launched as a way to connect buyers with makers and other artisans who created unique items ranging from apparel to household goods. As of June 2014, the company has raised $1 million in total funding.

The company raised $650,000 in June 2013, led by Great Oaks Venture Capital, with participation from 500 Startups and other angel investors.

In October 2013, the company rebranded as Hatch, and shifted focus to allow customers to tweak and suggest changes to the makers of the products on the website.

Hatch was named among Time Inc.’s “10 NYC Startups to Watch” in 2014.
