Hatbor

Hatbor is a small town in Nagaon district, Assam under Kaliabor sub division. The famous Bharali Namghar is about 1 km away from Hatbor. The battle between Mulagabharu and Turbak took place in Hatbor. The river Kolong flows in the north of Hatbor. Hatbor is the birthplace of short story writer Mahim Borah. The place has a rich cultural heritage. Presently Chitralekha Drama Production, Hatbor Kendriya Natya Samaj, Etyadi, Suraddhani Sanskritik Gosthi are active in the field of culture and literature. Presently a fortnightly news paper 'Jay Janagan' is being published from Hatbor.
