Murphy won Leinster club with Rathnew in 2001 and also led the Wicklow side to seven senior football county titles during his 12-year tenure, including an impressive four consecutive titles from 2000-2003.

Wicklow

After Kerry legend Mick O'Dwyer stepped down in the wake of defeat at the hands of Armagh, Murphy was appointed as the Wicklow senior football team on 29 August 2011.
