Hannover Re (in German Hannover Rück) SE, with a gross premium of around €16.4 billion, is the third-largest reinsurance company in the world. Its headquarters is in Hannover, Germany.

The company was founded in 1966 under the name Aktiengesellschaft für Transport- und Rückversicherung (ATR).
