Men's 10,000m - 1990 Goodwill Games

Hammou Boutayeb (Arabic: حمو بوطيب‎‎) (born 1956 in Khemisset) is a Moroccan long-distance runner. He specialized in the 10,000 metres

Boutayeb won a silver medal at the World Indoor Championships held in Seville, Spain.

Boutayeb may be best known for a deed of chicanery. In the 1992 Olympics 10,000 Meter Final, Boutayeb was lapped with 3 laps to go in the race, yet he proceeded to join the lead pack of Richard Chelimo and Khalid Skah in a very interfering and intrusive manner. He was apparently trying to help his countryman, Skah. Skah beat Chelimo by 1.02 seconds, but was disqualified for receiving undue assistance from Boutayeb. Skah was later reinstated. During the presentation ceremony held the next day, Skah was loudly booed by the crowd as he received his medal; Chelimo received a standing ovation.
