Hammerhead is a fictional character and the official mascot of West Ham United.
West Ham unveiled Hammerhead in December 2011 to a mixed reception. A semi-robotic character, the storyline behind his creation says he was forged when a bolt of lightning struck the Thames Ironworks and Shipbuilding Company, where West Ham were formed over 100 years ago. He is also described as "as fast as Billy Bonds and blessed with the goalscoring prowess of Vic Watson".
