Hamburg state election, 1993

On September 19, 1993, Hamburg state elections for members of the 15th legislative period of the Hamburg Parliament after the Second World War were held in the German state of Hamburg. There were 1,240,259 eligible voters.

Results

863,190 voters, meaning a turnout of 69.6%, gave 844,902 valid and 18,288 invalid votes. The election threshold to send a member to the Hamburg Parliament is 5%.

Post-election

First Mayor Henning Voscherau was elected to be the head of state by the Hamburg Parliament again, although he did not have an absolute majority. The SPD formed a coalition with the Statt party. Erhard Rittershaus, without party membership, became second mayor for the Statt party.
